NYPD arrests at #OCCUPYWALLSTREET protest - Tuesday 20 September
Details are still somewhat unclear, but it appears that several more OWS occupiers were arrested this morning as police stormed the camp and began to dismantle the tarps and tents that were erected in an attempt to shield occupiers from the oncoming rain. This video demonstrates a marked increase in the police department’s aggression in this latest encounter.
According to reports, at least one occupier was injured when they were slammed down on the sidewalk, breaking their teeth.We are monitoring the feeds and will keep you up-to-date with the situation as we get the news.
UPDATE: The media centre at the camp sends the following message via FB:
“We are vulnerable now. We need more bodies and more lawyers now. Deep concern that the police may attempt to remove us. Please spread the word now…”
